Happy 1st Birthday Tess!!

No camera

I sold my camera and am getting a new one. So no pics for a few more days. I will definitely have some birthday pics from Tess coming next week.

Cold visit to the zoo

Grant was away for the weekend and we both thought we saw something about a baby giraffe at the Milwaukee Zoo. So I packed up the girls and headed over. We have a zoo pass and love it. We have been to the zoo a ton over the last year and definitely gotten our moneys worth.

There was no baby giraffe but we still had a good time. Stuck to the buildings but this was the girls bundled up on the walks between them. We spent some time in the fish building. Tess liked that the best. Too dark to get any good pics though. :( Then we went to the monkey building. Greta had fun running around.

The gorilla was laying down right by the window.

And then we stopped on the way out to see the penguins swimming around. They loved this weather along with the polar bear.

I know I promised them yesterday. But here are some new pics finally. Haven't been doing much here. Too COLD!! Tess turned 11 months last week. Can't believe it is almost her birthday. She is pulling up and climbing on everything. Will walk pushing something occasionally but usually she prefers to crawl. Greta doesn't allow me to take her picture often. Fortunately Tess doesn't run from the camera yet. Greta is loving all her new things she got for Christmas. She has a name for all her dolls and her new doll is "Christmas baby." We discovered this week that she can count. She had been saying 1,2,1,2,1,2 when she counted but all of a sudden she counted to 8 while we were reading books the other day. She is so proud of herself.

Greta loves her playdough from her godparents. Thanks Tait and Katie. We play with it almost every morning during Tess's nap.

Greta likes to crawl into the crib with Tess. She steals pacifiers and pretends to be a baby.

I have been slacking. Promise to update later today but I hear Tess up from her nap.

Sewing...

I bought a sewing machine with my birthday money and have been sewing a few things. It is fun!! These are some fleece pants I made Greta. You can wear fleece over a cloth diaper at night and it holds in the wetness but breaths better than the "plastic" covers. I bought this remnant fleece to practice on before buying the nice thick fleece for the real thing. My first attempt was a success.

Sugar cut out cookies

We made some sugar cookies. Greta had fun cutting them out and then decorating with sprinkles. She enjoyed eating the sprinkles also and Tess loved finding stray ones on the floor.
